To better understand the impact of Medicare for All (M4A) in a general election, the Committee to Protect Medicare commissioned a survey of 2,993 general election registered voters in Arizona, Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The randomized survey was conducted from January 30th – February 2nd, 2020.
The poll finds support for Medicare for All and dissatisfaction with many aspects of the status quo in battleground states won by President Trump in 2016. A majority of the sample said it had voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton.
We find that a majority of these swing state voters support Medicare For All overall, and in four of the five states polled.
