Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Rob Davidson is an emergency physician who serves families in small communities across West Michigan, caring for and saving the lives of thousands of patients each year.
Dr. Rob believes that all people – not just the powerful and the privileged – deserve quality, comprehensive healthcare. All families should have peace of mind knowing that a medical emergency, a major surgery, a trip to the ER or a child with special needs won’t lead to bankruptcy and financial ruin. Rob’s seen all too often how patients put off treatment because they couldn’t afford going to a doctor, putting their lives and the lives of their loved ones at risk.
Rob was born in Fraser, Michigan, and went to Kalamazoo College, where he played football, studied biology and met his future wife, Diana, who would later become a family physician serving families of the Lakeshore. Rob received his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his training in Emergency Medicine in Portland, Maine.
In addition to many community and school volunteer activities, Rob also served on the Spring Lake school board. For many years, Rob and Diana have volunteered at medical missions at home and abroad, in some of the poorest countries and in hard-hit disaster areas. Rob is an active outdoorsman and athlete, competing in many short running contests, several marathons, triathlons and Ironman(TM) challenges. The Davidsons have two daughters and a son.
Dr. Rob Davidson will split his time between practicing medicine and volunteering as Executive Director of the Committee.
