What is the Committee to Protect Health Care’s Organizing Summit?

This is the Committee to Protect Health Care’s first national conference, a landmark gathering of physician advocates from across the country. This convening is designed to train, equip, and empower physicians to advocate for their patients, build pro-patient majorities in the 2026 midterms and beyond, and enact pro-patient health care policies to protect care.

Physicians from any specialty who want to advocate for their patients outside the exam room including those interested in health equity, combating disinformation, shaping policy, or strengthening the voice of medical professionals in public debates. Other health care professionals, partners and stakeholders engaged in health care policy and advocacy are welcome to attend the conference.

Attendees will gain hands-on training in traditional and social media, messaging, and press engagement. Together we’ll build camaraderie, learn strategies to counter current and emerging threats to health care, and leave with the skills, data, and talking points needed to influence policymakers, press, and voters. Physicians will walk away empowered as agents of change for patient well-being.

A special discounted room block is available at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, where the conference will be held. Details on how to register will be sent upon registration.

There will be a welcome reception and registration starting Wednesday afternoon, a full day of programming on Thursday, and a half day of the conference on Friday.

The conference will explore a wide range of issues shaping the future of health care and our democracy as we gear up for the 2026 midterms including how doctors can use their voices to shape elections, the impact of state and national policy trends on your work, and the threat of misinformation on health care. It’ll also address how we can hold RFK and Trump accountable with the midterms approaching to lower the cost of health care by highlighting strategies for coalition-building, effective communication, and more.
