Our 50-State network brings together physicians nationwide to advocate for policies that improve patient care, protect public health, and ensure access to essential services.
By organizing physicians in every state, we amplify the voices of those on the front lines of health care and address the unique challenges faced by diverse patient populations in different regions.
From passing health care expansion policies to holding lawmakers accountable to celebrating health care champions, there are key roles for physicians across the country to play in our health care campaigns. By leveraging our vast network of physicians in all the states, we work to create positive health care change at both the state and federal levels.
Our experienced organizing team connects physicians of all backgrounds to new and ongoing advocacy opportunities, providing the appropriate tools and guidance to advocate for their patients beyond the exam room.
As Republicans in Congress plot to take away Medicaid for patients to pay for tax cuts for billionaires, we’re organizing doctors in states nationwide to reach out to their members of Congress and tell them to oppose any cuts to Medicaid.
With more than 72 million Americans, including children, veterans, and low-income families and seniors relying on Medicaid for their health care, it’s critical that physicians across the country stand together to say NO to these cuts.
Patients shouldn’t be charged more for the same health care services just because they receive them at a hospital-owned facility, but as hospital systems consolidate and buy up independent physician practices, this issue of affordability is only getting worse. That’s why we mobilize physicians in states across the country to urge their members of Congress to enact site-neutral payment solutions.
From November 2024 to January 2025, the Committee to Protect Health Care and our members organized more than 22,000 physicians across the country to sign a letter urging the U.S. Senate to oppose Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The letter served as the first step in a ladder of engagement around the nomination, urging physicians to engage in a number of additional tactics: Contact their Senator, use our first-of-its-kind Action Center to contact their medical society and/or specialty association to publicly reject the nomination, participate in in-district events organized by strategic partner organizations, and stand up physician-led press stunts.
The campaign gained national media attention from The Daily Show, CBS News, The Hill, Politico, The Daily Beast, and The New York Times; our letter was even mentioned by Sen. Ed Markey during his floor speech during the nomination fight. While RFK Jr.’s nomination was ultimately approved despite publicly stated concerns from key Senators, the campaign was successful in coordinating thousands of physicians toward a dire public health flashpoint, and provides a roadmap for future advocacy and accountability campaigns.
