A civic home base for doctors across specialties to push for meaningful reform through our initiatives.
Physicians nationwide have been ready to change the system to better meet the needs of their patients, but they need an effective civic vehicle to get them involved in a way that respects their limited time and capacity.
The Committee to Protect Health Care provides a platform to plug physicians into the right fight, at the right time, with the right messages, to help improve our health care system in a strategic and scaled way.
We’re mobilizing experts to defend and expand access to reproductive health care in coordination with our professional campaign and communications staff.
Reproductive Freedom Taskforce Members often serve as the go-to person for rapidly responding to extreme attacks on reproductive health care access, serving as a trusted authority to correct misinformation and place these attacks in the context of broader trends of government interference in personal health care decisions.
Taskforce Members also speak out in support of legislative and electoral efforts to proactively protect or expand access to reproductive and abortion care, including passing laws and constitutional amendments through the legislature or on the ballot.
We’re expanding our network of physicians through text and email campaigns.
Using the best available tools and seizing on critical health care and political inflection points, we’re building a vast base of physicians in all 50 states.
We’re providing continuous development to keep physician leaders engaged and energized.
After recruiting physicians to take action, we continue to build on these relationships and deepen engagement, sending action takers membership packets about how to get involved, sharing weekly email newsletters to keep them informed on the news, public policy, and politics of health care, and bringing them into other health care fights relevant to their regions.
We’re empowering future leaders in health care and patient advocacy.
We work with physician members to build their campaign and advocacy skills not just to scale our impact but to improve and strengthen it in the form of trusted voices and leaders. Physicians with the Committee become organizers and leaders in their own right, helping direct educational, advocacy, and electoral efforts.
In 2024, we worked to recruit and deepen our engagement with advocates across the country interested in advancing state-level health care pricing reforms that patients need.
We grew our pool of advocates from 13K total in January 2024 to over 36K in January 2025, an increase of 129 percent.
Physician advocates join our network to participate in one campaign, then receive information about, and opportunities to advocate for, other issues in our portfolio or priorities, ensuring all campaigns are additive to the power-building for health care equity and reform.
We hold statewide and national media trainings for physicians taking part in various campaigns.
Our communications staff share the most up-to-date and tested messaging guidance, as well as best practices for media events and interviews, and work one-on-one with physicians to prepare them for interviews in order to help them use their trusted voices most effectively.
