The Committee to Protect Health Care works to hold politicians accountable on health care policies.
FAQ
Health care reform is only viable if voters elect pro-health care champions at the state and federal levels. In an effort to educate the public on politicians’ positions on health care issues, the Committee distributes state and federal questionnaires, soliciting candidates’ responses regarding wide-ranging health care issues.
Based on their responses to our questionnaire we determine our endorsements for an election cycle. Through earned and paid media, doctors make sure the public is aware of politicians’ health care positions either for, or against, vital reforms.
Using earned and paid media and campaign-style organizing tactics, we educate voters on candidates’ positions on health care issues, and help build majorities for those who champion health care and abortion access at both the state and federal levels.
When candidates or elected officials promote policies that restrict health care and abortion access, or fail to support policies to expand care, we use earned and paid media and mass organizing tactics to hold them accountable to the public

VA: FLIPPED THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES
(2023)
- The Committee endorsed 90 candidates who scored 100% on the Committee’s “Care for VA” questionnaire, which covered: Prescription Drug Affordability Boards, reproductive freedom, and health care expansion
- 58.1% (36) of the House of Delegates “Care for VA Candidates” and 60.7% (17) endorsed Senate candidates won their races
- Democrats regained control of the legislature and provide a necessary check on Gov. Glenn Youngkin
WI: FLIPPED THE SUPREME COURT

- Mobilized over 300 medical professionals to advocate for Judge Protasiewicz
- Generated statewide and national press about the stakes of the race

- Local doctors distributed over 700K letters to their neighbors outlining what was at stake for reproductive rights
