We’re quickly addressing breaking news and crises to promote our message inside the news cycle or combat disinformation as it happens.
We know that in this day and age, timeliness is everything, so we keep our ears to the ground on health care news and ensure physician voices are part of the narrative as quickly as possible.
We’re leveraging the latest data and research to ensure our messaging resonates with our audience and maximizes impact.
Moving the wrong message can be not just ineffective but harmful to the cause. We make sure physician messages are backed by polling and tested whenever possible in order to first, do no harm, and second, be as effective as possible.
In 2024, the Committee to Protect Health Care worked in coalitions across 5 states to protect reproductive freedom via ballot initiatives, with 4 of these initiatives succeeding.
We worked closely with partners to use poll-tested messaging, centering patient stories via trusted physician messengers.
When the U.S. Supreme Court issued the Dobbs decision in 2022, overturning Roe v Wade and the federal right to abortion, physicians with the Committee were ready to respond in 8 states where ballot initiatives and elections could impact state abortion access.
Within 9 hours of the court’s decision, we held 6 virtual press conferences featuring physicians sharing what the decision meant for their patients, with 2 more the following day.
In the face of relentless attacks on health care, from reproductive rights to Medicaid, we expose and hold accountable those politicians who seek to restrict access to essential care.
We mobilize physicians to challenge anti-care lawmakers, calling out their harmful policies through press events, op-eds, and paid digital advertising campaigns.
Our efforts helped bring public scrutiny to policies that endanger patient health, while equipping voters with the facts they needed to make informed decisions. By leveraging the voices of trusted medical professionals, we ensure that attacks on patients’ health do not go unanswered.
